Counselling Philosophy:

You may be experiencing a season of uncertainty, emotional distress, or feeling challenged in your relationships with others or with yourself. You might be seeking greater emotional balance, trying to understand long-standing patterns, or exploring deeper questions about identity, meaning, culture, or spirituality. Whatever brings you to counselling, I aim to offer a supportive and collaborative space where we can explore your experiences together at your own pace.

I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and I see counselling as a collaborative process guided by your needs, strengths, values, and goals. As a counselling intern, my approach is integrative and client-centred. I draw primarily from Emotionally Focused Therapy, while also incorporating CBT, attachment-based, ACT, somatic, and family systems perspectives when appropriate. This allows me to adapt our work to your unique lived experience rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

I am particularly interested in supporting individuals, couples, and families as they deepen self-understanding, strengthen relationships, improve communication, and develop tools to navigate emotional and life challenges with greater self-compassion. I also recognize that faith and spirituality can be important parts of a person’s identity and healing process. When requested by the client, I am open to respectfully incorporating religion or spirituality into counselling.

Coming from a multicultural background and speaking multiple languages, I value cultural sensitivity and understand that each person’s experiences are shaped by their family, culture, beliefs, and life story. I strive to create a space where clients from different backgrounds feel welcomed, respected, and understood.

I work under the clinical supervision of Anne-Marie Kokinski Corneau, a registered psychotherapist in the province of Ontario, ensuring professional oversight and ethical support.

Receipts are issued under my supervisor’s name and may be eligible for insurance reimbursement. Clients are encouraged to verify their coverage directly with their insurance provider.
