Counselling Philosophy
I work collaboratively with clients in their journey toward growth, strength, health, and attaining each client’s own unique personal goals. I work on providing a safe and secure space to work alongside clients as we explore struggles and challenges and how they are affecting daily life. Together we will look at how a client may be coping, what is working or not and how to move toward more adaptive and sustainable coping strategies and healing.
I believe in creating dynamic treatment plans for each client based on the particular needs of each individual. In this way, I use an integrative approach, based in person-centred therapy and utilizing aspects from a myriad of other approaches (including CBT, ACT, Psychodynamic, and Internal Family Systems).
I invite you to reach out if they feel you are struggling or encountering challenges in your life so we can begin working toward deeper self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and mental health together.
Professional Membership
- College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)
I am under the consultation / supervision of Dr. Martin Rovers, (mrovers@rogers.com) Ontario Registered Psychologist, for the ongoing development of my professional and ethical learning and for psychological services to my clients. I consult with Dr. Rovers regarding my clients on a regular basis. The receipt you will receive will be in my name, as a Registered Psychotherapist, which is acceptable by many insurance companies (e.g. Sunlife / government, others). If need be, I could issue a receipt in the name of Dr. Martin Rovers, Registered Psychologist, for the counselling services provided by me, a Registered Psychotherapist. It is your responsibility to determine which receipt works for our workplace insurance and benefits.
The regular fee for counselling is $150 (plus HST).
