My primary areas of interest include assisting individuals or couples who are coping with chronic illness, loss, trauma, depression and anxiety, relationship concerns, as well as men who are experiencing concerns around intimacy. In regards to counselling, I employ interpersonal therapy as well as emotion focused therapy, but integrate other modalities as based on the needs of each individual or couple. My approach to therapy is primarily to foster a relationship with each individual so as to collaboratively develop an environment that promotes the possibility for wellness, growth and change. My role is to assist each person to increase his or her autonomy through empathic interpretation and receptiveness while exploring their emotional experience. As a result, I believe, that he or she will better be able to cope with tension, develop or enhance self-esteem, pursue personal and professional goals, and enjoy fulfilling relationships. I offer counselling services in English and in French.
